Resilience Arrangements

Following consultation, Ofqual has published guidance on measures to ensure resilience in the qualifications system. This guidance outlines how to gather and retain evidence of learner performance, which is essential for grading decisions if exams or formal assessments need to be cancelled due to severe events.

Though primarily aimed at GCSE and A-level qualifications, this guidance also applies to other vocational qualifications, including VTCT’s Technical Award. Centres should review this guidance as part of their resilience planning.

VTCT has also published an infogram, which can be found on the Exams Hub, that offers practical steps for evidence collection across various content areas throughout the year.

This resource highlights the importance of planning assessments, retaining learner work, and ensuring flexibility in the face of potential disruptions, helping centres to stay prepared and maintain consistency in assessing learners.
